Imagine

Saunds, Lyds and I were walking to Shoppers to buy an In Touch magazine tonight at 10pm. On our way home, while walking past an abandonded school yard, we found our red table reincarnated in turquoise. It was a son of a bitch to get home, but we did.

Latest Score

It's a keeper! Though we will recover it come spring, it's kinda funky even the way it is.

Failed to Mention

Here is one detail we failed to mention regarding the Market blog entry:

Halifax has the OLDEST farmer's market in North America (est. 1750) - yeh, I said it: North America. I too find this hard to believe. Delaware, put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Instructions

The blog doesn't display all the new Christmas posts on one page; you will have to use the links on the right hand side of the page (starting with "Christmas" under January). Sorry for the confusion.

New Year’s Eve

Would it have been an east coast holiday if we failed to serve up lobster? I say not! The messy and delicious meal was the focal event of our relaxing new years eve.

Harbor Stroll

Don’t be fooled by the grey east coasty sky - the warm temperature lent itself to a harbour hike.

Christmas Day

The Cheese Man in Action

Working Holiday

Mom set up a studio in Jeff’s office and dad tasked himself with household repairs. Needless to say, our house is both functionally and aesthetically more pleasing as a result. Amidst the tourist events and labour, we still managed to find time for relaxing.

Halifax Style

My dad experienced a classic Halifax night out, complete with a damp walk downtown to hear local fiddle music at a cozy pub, followed by a late-night donair feast! As with all donair patrons, it was love at 1st bite; he found himself buying another for lunch the next day.

In Awe of the Architecture

It was great having my parents because they were excited about things were have become accustom to, such as the architecture. We were able to enjoy Halifax through new eyes again.

Day One: Mahone Bay & Lunnenburg

Christmas

I will be brief and say only that our holiday with my parents was amazing! If I carry on too much about the fun I had, I will relapse into homesickness. The pictures are description enough!

Of course, we missed my sister, Elton, Jellybean, Deb, Lance, Wearn, Kristen, and Emma - our separation this Christmas was indeed a sour departure from tradition.

That being said, I have to admit it was a Christmas to remember! The weather couldn’t have been more ideal, especially the day we went to Peggy’s Cove. Save a few injured ankles (me and dad) and a ridiculous flight home, the visit was great. We had a rental car for three days but we put on plenty of pedestrian kilometers the remainder of the trip (which is, in our opinion, the best way to see the city anyway). Lydia was elated when my parents were in town. We can hardly wait to do it all over again at the end of February with the Dudars!

My classes resume tomorrow (oh the horror) and if you can believe it, I have a midterm exam on Jan 18th (not this Friday, but the following Friday - WTF is that about?). So, I will talk to you all in the spring (that is a half joke).
