Christmas

I will be brief and say only that our holiday with my parents was amazing! If I carry on too much about the fun I had, I will relapse into homesickness. The pictures are description enough!

Of course, we missed my sister, Elton, Jellybean, Deb, Lance, Wearn, Kristen, and Emma - our separation this Christmas was indeed a sour departure from tradition.

That being said, I have to admit it was a Christmas to remember! The weather couldn’t have been more ideal, especially the day we went to Peggy’s Cove. Save a few injured ankles (me and dad) and a ridiculous flight home, the visit was great. We had a rental car for three days but we put on plenty of pedestrian kilometers the remainder of the trip (which is, in our opinion, the best way to see the city anyway). Lydia was elated when my parents were in town. We can hardly wait to do it all over again at the end of February with the Dudars!

My classes resume tomorrow (oh the horror) and if you can believe it, I have a midterm exam on Jan 18th (not this Friday, but the following Friday - WTF is that about?). So, I will talk to you all in the spring (that is a half joke).

I Did it!

It's hard for me to believe but I actually made it through this first semester. It was a gruelling experience. Here are just a few snap shots of the party that ensued after the last final exam (the celebrations commenced at 10:30am and continued into the evening).





The following night we had some friends over for rum-nogs and fresh oysters!











And last night we decorated the tree, which is 9 feet tall by the way! My parents arrive Thursday and we are so excited. We miss you all and will connect through out the holiday.

Frigid Weather

It has been SOOOOO cold here that we have been using our furnace oil like mad. Nova Fuels filled it for us this morning and $472.00 later we are in good shape for the "winter."

Doings in Halifax

Where to begin? Let’s do Meg’s birthday. As usual, this day was a good day. Amidst the chaos that is now her life, Meg managed to celebrate. The celebration began with eight-hours of school (not worth blogging about unless there are some sickos out there that like the innards of ears), followed by a stroll down Barrington, then to the mall, and then to the party.

Barrington was usual, a bunch of overpriced used clothes and coffee drinkers willing to pay the horrendous toll. We walked among the coffee drinkers with hopes of finding a costume for that evening’s double birthday/Halloween party. No dice.

The mall equals the dollar store. We managed to pull together twice ingenious costumes: Jeff – road – and Meg – the Paper Bag Princess.

While we were gluing and cutting and sewing and ripping, Meg managed to open her gifts. They were neat. I was doing lots of push-ups and sit-ups while this occurred so as to look debonair (not to be confused with donair) in my tights.

The following pictures are of the gifts (I realize they are all the gifts I got her; she did receive many more) and party. The party was in honour of Meg and Jeff (not me though, Charlotte’s Jeff. The two of them are deadly, the two Jeff's that is). It was Meg's 28th and Jeff's 30th birthday. It too was Halloween. Can you imagine?
